STANIEL CAY HOUSE

This Staniel Cay, Bahamas, residence is designed to blend with its remote, tropical environment, offering a refined living experience. Positioned between a lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean, the home maximizes views, adapts to the island’s climate, and uses a modular “kit-of-parts” approach for efficient transport and assembly with local resources. Durable, climate-resistant materials ensure longevity.

The design includes a main house, guesthouse, and oceanside cabana, connected by an elevated boardwalk. Strategic placement and expansive glazing create a seamless flow, balancing openness, privacy, and stunning views. Operable screens enhance airflow and shading. They also allow the home to "shut down” and “open up” as occupied. The result is a thoughtful, site-responsive home deeply integrated with the Bahamian landscape.
