Damien C. Blumetti, AIA


Founder + Principal

A Sarasota, Florida, native, Damien C. Blumetti received his Bachelor of Design degree in Architecture from the University of Florida in 2007. He was granted an academic scholarship and a teaching assistantship for his graduate studies, and received his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Florida in 2009. Upon graduating, Blumetti began a decade-long mentorship under Guy Peterson, founder and principal of the award-winning design studio Guy Peterson | Office for Architecture. As an associate at OFA, Damien managed numerous projects that won AIA State and Local Design Awards, and have become fixtures in Sarasota’s architectural community.

Blumetti’s style has earned him the title of Third Generation Sarasota School Architect. He frequently contributes to panel discussions on the subject of the Sarasota School of Architecture and other forms of Regionalism. He also regularly sits on design juries for the undergraduate and graduate architecture departments at his alma mater. Beyond his practice, Blumetti has received several nominations that underscore his integral role in state and local architectural and government institutions. In 2011, he was appointed to the AIA Board of Directors Gulf Coast Chapter; in 2015, he was selected for the Center for Architecture’s Facilities Committee; in 2017, he was elected to the City of Sarasota Planning Board, where he currently serves as chairman. He resides in Sarasota with his wife, Erin, and two daughters, Ila and Etta.

 
 
 

Amanda Byars, AIA


Project Architect

Originally from Plano, Texas, Amanda Byars, AIA, received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Byars attended the University of Florida for graduate school, where she received her Master of Architecture degree. During her graduate studies, she also taught undergraduate courses in design and advanced curriculum in environmental technology, solar geometry, sun-shading systems, and HVAC system design.

Prior to joining Damien Blumetti Architect, Byars worked for three years as a Project Manager for Guy Peterson Office for Architecture. She has been a Project Architect at Damien Blumetti Architect since 2017, where she manages the design, documentation, and administration of complex modern construction. Her experience with the firm includes several multi-phase renovation projects, as well as new residential and commercial construction.

 
 
 

Adam Roark, AIA Assoc.


Designer

A South Carolina native, Adam Roark resides in Birmingham, Alabama as a remote member of the office. He earned a Master of Architecture degree from Clemson University where he also received the AIA Henry Adams Certificate and spent a summer working for Richard Meier & Partners in New York City. While at Clemson, he specialized in Digital Ecologies as a means to interface emerging technologies such as parametric design, robotics, and smart materials with architecture.

Prior to joining Damien Blumetti Architect in early 2018, Roark worked with firms big and small across the Southeast and gained experience with multi-family and single-family housing as well as commercial, hospitality, and academic project types. In congruence with a focus on design, Roark specializes in bringing ideas to life through realistic visualization techniques that allow for clients to not only fall in love with their project; but to truly comprehend a design's spatial and aesthetic qualities.

 
 
 

Erin Adams


Director of Finance

Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Erin Adams has spent most of her life in Sarasota, Florida. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from State College of Florida in 2014, graduating with high honors. Adams has more than 15 years of experience in hospitality training, during which she specialized in restaurant administration, management, customer service, and designing and implementing financial strategies.

In 2017, Adams co-founded Damien Blumetti Architect alongside her husband. She serves as the Director of Finance, developing and monitoring project budgets, overseeing financial activities, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Operating as an on-the-ground liaison between the design studio and the client, Adams also demonstrates a strong commitment to service, and maintains utmost integrity and clarity in the evolution of each project.
